Hi I need to change my fan switch on my corsa cuz the fans not kicking in (tested fan works fine) but it's got 2 plugs one with 2 wires one with 3 which one do I change? And why is there 2 sensors on the rad?

What year, what engine?
When advanced technology fails you need advanced personell using advanced tools and equipment to find advanced solutions... Somehow in either of these matters it keeps going wrong??!?
1999 t reg and it was a corsa sport 1.6 16v now its a c20let
To clarify it did have aircon but not anymore right? you should do that test I mentioned on your project thread it will identify if the switch is at fault or the wiring is.
Sorry forgot to say if I put the 2 wires together on the 2 pin one nothing but if I bridge the 3 pin one I think it was brown white wire and brown wire the fan comes on, and yes it did have air con but not now
Did it have two fans before you removed the aircon?
I cant remember mate it was nearly 4 years ago I removed it
Ok, after you removed all that and fitted the let has the fan worked since? like I said on the project thread the aircon fan was part of the circuit.
Edit: just realised you said bridging the 3 pin one makes the fan cut in. IIRC that is for the fast speed but again my calibra required the aircon fan to be fitted/working for the fans to cut in.
When i fitted the let I had it coming on with the ignition
Well if that's the case the fan switch has nothing to do with it surely if it's just wired to run all the time??
No it's not now mate it's been put back to standered cuz i don't want it coming on with the ignition now
I'm not expert but going off my experience with my calibra the two switches are because of the aircon i'll just try and find a wiring diagram for your motor.
Cheers mate
Just had a look on autodata you did have two fans originally so question is what happened to the part of the loom where the fan was removed, was the wiring bridged/shorted or was the fan simply unplugged leaving it open circuit.
An easy alternative would be to just get a standard 4 pin relay (about a £1) and connect that to your fan (live feed from battery or somewhere nearby same with the earth) using the fan switch to trigger the relay.
i think it was just unplugged mate, just seen this http://i1218.photobucket.com/albums/...i09/rad1-1.jpg thats the same as my rad the air con one is the 3 wire one, but if i bridge the 2 wire one the fan doesn't come on, but if i put the white/brown and brown wire together on the 3 wire one (air con) fan will come on with the ignition?
just been outside taken the 2 wire plug off and bridge it and i could hear a clicking coming from somewhere near the brake servo?? im wondering if iv wired the fan up to the wrong plug, maybe the air con fan plug? the reason iv changed the wires on the fan is cuz iv fitted a slim line fan
Anyone suggest anything?
Just looked what colour wires are going to the fan its a red one with a white strip and a brown one are they the right ones?
Right think iv sorted it, i can now get the fan to kick in when the temps go to just over 100c but im not sure if the way iv done it is safe? the 1st pic shows the relays near the brake servo iv had to bridge a wire from right the pin (middle relay) to the right pin on the end relay is this going to be ok? the 2nd pic shows my temp gauge when driving round is this ok?????

Wiring look a bodge.
Whats the temp read? Cannot see on the photo
For the love of God, please read the rules
That clicking you hear when shorting the 2 pin plug is the fan relay energising but since you unplugged the air con fan it is now open circuit on that part.
Temp looks like 95? The 3 pin switch closes at a higher temp than the 2 pin one if i'm not mistaken.
If the next mark is 100, would that not be 97.5 deg c?
For the love of God, please read the rules
Opps maybe I thought that was 80 on the left and 5 deg increments, meh either way the wiring needs sorting properly.
so is 97.5 ok?
