Total stab in the dark here but bear with me - does it have an aftermarket stereo fitted ?

If it does, can you remove it and see if the problem persists ?

Like I say - total stab in the dark but the immobilisers have a blue/red wire which is also a colour used for the speedo feed.

Aftermarket stereos have been known to interfere with Vauxhall speedos in the past as the speed pulse is brought to the back of the radio loom.

I'll look like a hero if it works - if it doesn't then you've only lost 10 minutes of your time lmao

redone earth lead to ecu...still flashing em light.

    checked all fuses...still fl/em light

have power going to transponder on a black and a red wire

    took sterio out......still fl/em light

The only other thing I can suggest is to disconnect the battery and use a continuity meter between the transponder ring and wherever else it goes to - make sure there is continuity between all relevant parts.

If you've replaced the ecu / immobiliser units and its still doing it then it can only really be whatever is linking the two up.

yep..i know what your saying mate..its just you can see the relative bits..ecu,chip trans....but wiring.you can see all that.??

haynes manual should indicate wiring diagram and have the details of the interwiring between the ECU and the Ignition chip reader collar, this technology uses the RFID principle, i.e. the collar transmits a short energising pulse which powers the chip in the key and that in return sends back the code, the coller then reads this code and sends it to the ecu where , hence the collar acts both as a transmit and a receiver, if correct the ecu then enables the engine starting procedure, so anything wrong with this set up can cause hold ups, such as the collar having a dry joint with the circuit board, a collar is nothing more than a coil tuned to a specific frequency usually in kilohertz, but not in megaherts. so any frequency determining components within the collar circuit board can also cause this problem.

When you changed to an another ECU, Did you also change the ignition collar and its circuit? or did you only change the ecu and the transponder chip only? if you did not change the complete set up including the collar ring with its own associated little pcb, then that is where your problem may be.
Our future lies in the past, we can learn from the past to forcast our future,
