    Re: Electronic ignition help

Anyone got any info on this?

Been looking at mbe ignition only ecu's any recommendations?

I've built this engine without the stock trigger wheel as it wasn't required at the time, anyone know of any after market bottom pulley ones with sensor or something?

Would really appreciate any info people have got, am a bit of a noob with electronics that's why I kept it dizzy,

    Cheers

    Re: Electronic ignition help

From what I know about it...(never made the conversion myself)
    *M2.8 ECU
    *M2.8 Engine loom
*Throttle position potentiometer instead of switch
*Different plugs (FR8 LDC instead of FR7 DC-2)
    *Different injectors (blue)
*Different ECT (temp sensor) (Black instead of blue afaik)
*Different MAF sensor, apparently it has a temp sensor for intake air temperature
*Head is slightly different too, apparently there are some threaded holes necessary.. Is possible to have this work done on it though...
*On the stock M2.8 engines the timing belt is different too, but that's not a necessity to convert afaik

The rest are the obvouis things, like coilpack, blanking plate, bearing... as you already mentioned...

Things mentioned may not all be necessary, and may not be the complete list...

You can drop this in Google translate perhaps...some interesting info...

When advanced technology fails you need advanced personell using advanced tools and equipment to find advanced solutions... Somehow in either of these matters it keeps going wrong??!?

    Re: Electronic ignition help

cheaper method is H+H ignition solutions, they sell a mk2 cavalier stye optical setup in kit form (distributor, hall sensor, loom, ignition amp, coil) but more importantly can re-curve the mechanical advance to suit your application.

admitedly its not MBE or weber alpha, but significantly cheaper and reliable.

megajolt, im running it on a 20seh with r1 carbs

    you need

    megajolt ecu
    loom (diy)
    36-1 trigger wheel
    ford crank sensor
    ford coil pack and leads
and either a tps sensor or vaccum line from the inlet
