    codes p1612 and p1613

    can anyone tell me how to get my car working again the codes p1612/1613 come up on tech 2 tester car runs then starts cutting out then stops its a diesel 2.0 by the way any ideas please

    transponder poss? the fault codes are immob signal not been sent or recieved......, or immob/ECU need reprograming, prob broke if its just suddenly stopped working though

    the car allways starts when cold but then after a few minutes it starts to cut out its got worst over a few weeks now cant use it

    P1613 Same as above

    try anything down the lines of the immob cant talk to the key, so could be the chip in the key, the immob/ECU, transponder...i think its your ECU at fault tho or immob.... you can put a key in most vauxhalls with a powerpack in the cigarete lighter socket, pull the keys out of the ignition and walk off, the engine will remain running till you remove the 12v supply

    so from that, the ECU doesnt repeatly check the key is there, only once when you fire it, once its accepted it just runs! Random cut outs would suggest the immob has packed up...

    or something else is giving false codes

    Check the transponder around the ignition barrel..Or could be the ecu...I'm sure I read somewhere that the ecu can get hot and play around if it's located on the rear of the inlet manifold? ...or it could be a faulty immobiliser.
