i had a 1.4 engine in my car but it blow up so changed it for a 1.6 and still have it runnin on 1.4 ecu its runnin sound......just want 2 no will a ecu from a 1.6 gave me more power ??????

yes it will run better with the 1.6 ecu

HI what age is the x16xe you put in .I put one in my corsa b and still trying to
get it to run right, my go for a x14xe then ecu chip and tranceponder then

think was 98 r 99......i put mine in and changed the clocks to and had no problems with it

hi the ecu out the x16xe is the one with erg valve or with out

and you need to get it coded to the trancponder and key chip i think

I found it made a big difference, I had my 1.4 sport fitted with an X16XE and just ran it with the X14XE ECU because I couldnt get an X16 one at the time. It ran ok but it was much better once I changed it to the X16XE one. There seemed like there was a good bit more power but it wasnt RR's before so dont know how much it was down by. I got mine from Dixons Vauxhall 01132880022 and I think it was about £60 back in 2004/2005. You will need the ECU, transponder and chip for it all to work together tho

new ecu put in 2 day hard to know if there is more power but the car sounds a bit diff only had time to bring it for 1 run hit 130mph

it doesnt make a difference i had a sri 14xe put a 1.6 ecu in doesnt run right then this was with inlet manifold and a 4-2-1 manifold when hot it idels ruff i have a 1.6 some were with chip and ecu got 4 i just turboed the dam thing it blew up and then had a redtop thrown in cheap and powerful enough for one of them cars

ya dnt think much diff with changein ecu but it does sound a bit diff im runnin higher lift cams inlet de-cat and ss back box.....was it hard 2 put a turbo on it ?

no that were the easy bit it were stright foward i have some pictrures here you go a friend of mine run 14psi on his and it didnt blow i had 25 psi threw mine and it blew with in a couple of miles i broke the boost nipple:

ya i heard if u run low boost it wount blow....what bhp was ur's ? did u just weld the turbo 2 manifold and what size turbo ? and was pipes hard made up ?
