    Astra GTE Brake Problems

Hi people, spent the day upgrading my GTE brakes from the early GMF calipers, master cylinder and servo to the later ATE kit, blead the brake using my eeze bleed kit and I haven't got any brake pedal just goes straight to the floor so I swooped back to my old master cylinder and servo re-blead the brake's the pedal still goes straight to the floor, has anybody got any idea what I'm doing wrong. Any ideas gratefully received.

Nipples at the top? Try crimping all 4 hoses, then letting one off at a time to eliminate each caliper.

additionally, had these symptoms (or rather someone else had, which i spotted) due to the caliper spring being on backwards, pushing the carrier and caliper appart, instead of pulling them together. (so every time you took foot off pedal, spring was compressing caliper piston, then when you reapply pedal you are taking the slack back out and pedal goes to floor)

Oooh, good call Darren. Amazing what difference that little spring makes.

How does this work? I have fitted new brakes two days ago and also have the pedal to the floor problem now....
