new ignition barrel and cant wont start!!!!!

basically my mate had a 1.2 corsa with a x16xe conversion.
we was parked up and went to start the car and the ignition barrel snapped into the black box.
at this time the car ignition was on so he had to try prize a screwdriver in and turn off the car.
he tried black boxing and hot wiring it.
we then went scrap yard and brought new barrel and used old black box.
but now for some reason the car is turning over but wont fire up!

the old key was attached to the normal key as there was an immobilizer
but we used the immobilized key on the new non immobilized key and car still not firing


is there a big chance the ecu locked or shut down?

What is this black box? are you talking about the receiver?
Are any lights flashing?
You might find that replacing the ecu,key(transponder) and receiver(black box with ring around ignition barrel) might do the trick.
Have you tried putting the snapped key right up against the igntion barrel and trying to start the car. You will have a chip inside the key which is coded to the ecu. If the signal fails to register then the car will not start.

1. Put the key in and turn the ignition on (to position 2)
2. When you are cranking the engine over.

My money is on you not having swapped the small 'chip' from your old key.
