the other week i got a combo van that had half an engine , i have dropped in a mk3 astra td isuzu lump but now it wont start

i suspect its got something to do with the glowplugs or relays as im getting a strong wiff of un burned diesel on turning the key

when i got the van the cylinder head was already removed but on turning the key there was a yellow glowplug light , now with the astra engine in there is no glow plug light at all

i have swapped all the ignition barrel box over with the chip in the key so i have all the matching immobilizer bits too

any help appreciated
