    308mm Corsa C brakes

Hi ive purchased a set of corsa D VXR brakes, ive got brand new 308mm drilled and grooved discs that iv'e had redrilled to 4 stud. After fitting them to the car, we noticed that they are 10mm to big, and the pads hang of the edge of the disc if you know what i mean. Ive been told I need different caliper carriers as the VXR ones are wrong even though they fit . Does anyone know what caliper carriers I need that the VXR calipers will fit too? Or know someone who can make me some fit, Iv'e seen people selling these as conversions, but they don't say which caliper carriers are needed.

    Cheers.

You are a star pal thank you very much, are thee fitted on a corsa c then? what spiggot rings do i need to get, I assume these are for the gap inbetween the discs with the difference in size on the hub? Also does this mean they will fit under a 16" alloy?

yes these are on my corsa C 16" sri,s, no problems the rings as said go on the hub to fill that gap but you can do without them and use 2 long bolts with heads chopped off to align disc when fitting wheel back on, matt on corsa C sells the rings but is out of stock I think. I see you have 305bhp did you get that mapped at courtenay as thats the best C they have had on there rollers, also are you on corsa c site. ps they stop very well.

sweet as thankyou, yes i am on corsa c site, but not a fan of it tbh, I had problems with the mapping of the car when i bought it and had to do a lot of work to get it back up to scratch, new vxr turbo etc, head was taken off and we ported and polished it gas flowed etc, it used to run on a red dot map, but it was right it was detting its tits off, so I took it too an independant mapper S.R.M.C in leicestershire that we know (streetracesgd.co.uk) and he set it all up. Tbh we are now having teething problems with it it keeps blowing VXR air flow meters and there not cheap to replace , but once wev'e fixed this it will be going back to mappers to check map to make sure it isnt that, that is causing it as we keep getting a fuel trim malfunction error code p0170. (which is down to airflow.) Funny thing is they mapped it on a standard fuel pump aswell we thought it had an uprated one in it but it didnt. Now it does though .

they did well to get that bhp on the standard pump as it would be very lean at the top end and would be very dangerous for the engine, glad you have uprated the pump thats the first thing I done, I take it you have vxr injectors and yes get it remapped and make sure the fueling is correct across the whole range, mines a klassen map from courtenay and fueling is spot on, try a new 02 sensor to cure the p0170 or if that does not cure it then its maf common problem.

yes its defo maf, it keeps blowing them after a couple of months use, I use a K &N filter which vauxhalls dont like, so this won't be helping it, I've seen those diblias fliters but there outragous price, what can I do to solve this as I cant run a standard airbox on them they won't fit. Yes I do run VXR injectors, bigger top hat, bigger boost pipes stainless. vxr map sensor, turbo, full 3" turbo downpipe all the way through to backbox, sports cat (going to take this out as its wank). Quaife diff, F23 box, going to be putting the x20xev inlet cam in retarded one tooth, fuel pressure regulator. I might try the 02 sensor but doubt that will help tbh.

if it was me I would take it to courtenay and get them to map it and cure the maf problem, I,m no fan of the x20xev cam and would never fit one to be honest, the standard regulator is fine, and I have touch wood never had a problem with maf or 02 sensors and I use a piper filter, I just had a custom 2.5" exhaust fitted but have a 200 cell for mot,s etc, a bit down on power now as the exhaust is a bit more restrictive than my old cobra set up but should still make 275+ and is quiet untill you give it some stick.

yes ours is quite until you give it some tbh , suprises a few people lol, which piper filter do you use? have you got a picture aswell?, im going to be taking my K & N off before i fit new maf thev'e come back to us today saying it was faulty, so getting a new one , but i know it will go again so need to plan ahead this time. Also theres 2 02 sensors should i change both?

will get a piccy up later, are you using genuine bosch 80mm maf , the second lambda on mine is fitted but the ecu does not search for it as courtenay adjusted ecu to ignore it but it still needs to be connected so it does not flag up code fault, I would replace the main one up front with genuine gm and see how you get on with that.

    Re: 308mm Corsa C brakes

Ok that sounds good to me, yes we are using a genuine bosch unit will always use oem stuff, I will be getting a lamba too. I have also been taking to regal and courtney and they seem to think my best option would be to get a diblias flow master for the BHP ive got and mods I use, they say a standard airbox with flat panel filter is what I need but for what mods ive got and future spec the diblias is the way to go. £330.00 later :O, may have to wait a bit before I sort that out. lol.

its a shame there is not enough room for a box and uprated filter, best of luck in getting it sorted.

have you checked ur turbo pressure relief valve? if thats shut when ur changing gears you might be getting to much back pressure that will kill afm and turbo eventualy
    killer corsa`s
