Stuck suspension

Trying to get my front suspension off but can't. The only part I can see to undo is the bolt at the top but it just spins and can see the bar inside the suspension spinning. Where am I going wrong ?

Read the top sticky on this page mate, because your yamaha motorcycle may need the forks straightening.

Undo the 2 13mm nuts on the top of the turret in the engine bay.
Undo the 2 19mm bolts on the leg (leg in to hub)

The shock will come off.

Yeah I tried undoing the bolt in the engine bay but it just spins and won't loosen

Has it got an allen or splined centre that you hold with a socket while undoing nut with spanner? A lot of cars do. It'd help if we knew what car yours was obviously

Reach inside the coil spring, lift up the shock dust cover and get some mole grips on the shock rod it to stop it spinning.

Or better still get somebody with an airgun to zip them loose.

Impact gun will piss them off,or as ben says try some mole grips on the internal shock
