brakes not bleeding need help!!!!!
hi folks
ive recently replaced the brake pipes on my girfriends astra mk 4 1.4 S reg and for some reason the brakes are not bleeding.
it went for an MOT yesterday and failed on loads of stuff all of which ive done now except the brakes.
i had to renew the rear brake pipes to flexi hose and flexi hose itself and the front brake pipes when i pump the pedal the fluid doesnt go down at all which i find strange ive tried the front ones and its no joy
i know the sequence is
left rear
right rear
left front
right front
but the fluid just doesnt seem to be drawing into the brake pipes ive never had this problem before any ideas ?
thanks

Re: brakes not bleeding need help!!!!!
You have probably reversed the seals in the master cylinder.
You should never pump the pedal to bleed the brakes, get yourself an eezibleed and try that

oh right, i thought it was possible to bleem them normally ie with a tube and jar ?
i will buy an eazibleed and hopefully that will sort them out
many thanks

Did you push back any calipers etc ? As above, you could have flipped the seals in the master cylinder.
And again - as above, the ezbleed kits are great - the push the fluid through under pressure and you don't need to touch the pedal. Also good for hydraulic clutches

Re: brakes not bleeding need help!!!!!
I concur with the previous comments. Every home mechanic MUST have a Gunsons Eezibleed. (BTW, I notice that Gunsons now do a couple of bleed tools, but the original is an excellent - and inexpensive - piece of kit. Gunsons part #G4062. Screwfix sell them (sorry about the long link): Gunson Eezibleed Kit - Screwfix.com, Where the Trade Buys)
Having said that, if the Eezibleed does not cure your problem, it will make identifying the problem a lot easier.
