    C20Let Corsa No EML

    Hiya, I've got everything plumbed & wired in on the conversion after following guides on here etc for the wiring its all set wire for wire as per this

    now i've had the car turning over, but it wont fire, i've got all the lights on the dash bar the EML which i know works as it was on with the previous engine fitted.

    All the electrics on the car seem to work as they should aswell & i can here the fuel pump prime with the first click on the ignition.

    any pointers in sorting the EML and could this be linked to the car not starting?

    dont think corsa's prime there fuel pumps....everything connected igniton wise?? earthed? ecu live?

    could be fuel pump relay.

    or black ignition wire not connected.

    righto thanks for the reply's i've put a new genuine fuel relay on, i'm sure all the wires are connected as they should be but will double check in a mo.
    Andy Black ignition wire is the single wire near the dizzy side of the loom ? thats been connected aswell.

    edit

    i've just had a look at the plugs and noticed i dont have a spark when turning over.

    I know its going to be something simple which is causing the problems

    is the main + wire from the ecu loom connected.

    This is a thick red wire, but will be covered in black sleeving (and white stripe). Usually found under the bonnet.

    yep thats all connected, along with the starting and charging loom side of things.

    i've read a few topics on here reguarding these sorts of problems, and am i right in saying a non working fuel relay would cause the no EML and no fuel/spark

    switched ignition feed wired up? (right side of loom by cylinder head-by dizzy)

    Correct. Which is why I sugguested it. But you said it was new.
    It's just about possible it's the wrong relay, so check all the pins line up with the terminals/wires.

    Yeah that has crossed my mind but its literally a brand new genuine one as i had to go to vaux to get one a couple of days ago.
    I'm going to spend a few hours today going through all of the wiring again

    Inside the car (C20LET Loom) These are the wires i should be using

    Small connection block-1 (Diagnostic)
    Brown/White
    Brown/Yellow

    Small connection block -2 (fuel Pump)
    Thick Red/Blue

    Green Connection block (Guages/Dash)
    Brown/blue
    Green
    Blue
    Black

    And these should be connected colour for colour to the corsa loom.


    Inside the engine bay,
    Connected earths
    Connect battery -ve
    connect battery +ve
    Connect Corsa starter loom
    Connect ignition live to plug near dizzy
    Connect Main ECU +ve to battery terminal

    Does this sound about right and can you see if i've left anything out

    Righto, everything is wired in as above. still no fuel/spark or EML, I'm boggled on this one.
    The ECU has the Letters HD on the sticker with serial number, Is this the correct non imobilised ecu for a corsa b c20let conversion? is it possible this is the problem?

    Thanks for the reply Jamie

    Bugger lol that'll be the issue i'm guessing.
    Can anyone confirm that an imobilised ecu would cause No EML light, No spark or fuel but still allow the engine to turn over?

    or have i still got some underlying problems lol

    Yes it would. Get some phase chips put in it or get aloan of an ecu to try mate.

    Sound, thats that sussed then, i'll look into phase chips now. but have also put a request up for anyone local in northants to loan/sell me an ecu

    Phase 1 chips would be fine for it and set it up for that.

    Righto a lil update on this, I've just recieved and fitted a PJ type ecu, the problems still persist.
    The car wont fire and doesn't look like i have fuel or spark.

    Any other ideas of what it can be?

    Have you actually got +12v supply to the ecu?

    the C20let loom the thick red +ve is connected to battery terminal

    Ignition live is connected too

    Yes. but have you actually got power to the ecu? Need to check for some 'volties' at the ecu plug.

    Where on the ecu plug should i be checking?

    is this correct?
    check if the ECU itself is getting live feed - by probing pins 37 (+) and 3 (-), and the way the pins go is: looking at the wide loom plug contacts dead on, with the widest row of 3 at the bottom:

    38-55
    20-37
    1-19 (this is the row with two more pinholes than the other two)
    i've done this and i have 12v on the multimeter (second click on ignition)
