where does this lead connect to?

What is this lead supposed to be earthing? its been such a long time since i took the old engine out that ive forgotten?

Its not the gearbox earth as thats on a seperate strap

that lead normally goes on the battery earth but cant see why its so long

the battery earth is already there (you can just about see it in the pic)
my gearbox is already earthed on an earth strap elsewhere so whereabouts on the box would this one connect?

That earth shouldn't be there, someones added that on extra. I'd just ditch it if the car runs/works fine.

not hurt to be attached to one of the top gear box bolts just remove one and replace it 2 min ob
