Re: Tigra ignition barrel
Found this from another forum:
"There is an annoying steering lock tab that needed moving to fit the new barrel."
How do you move that steering lock tab? I've tried moving it up and down and up again, no success so far.

Re: Tigra ignition barrel
Hi mate,
The haynes manual says to install the cylinder with the key in position 1 if its a late type cylinder, and position 2 if its the early type. (i'm guessing its late type)
Ensure the ignition switch wiring block is aligned with the flats on the lock barrel, if needed rotate the switch with a screwdriver, i.e position 1 or 2
If the steering lock has actuated push the lock down with a screwdriver. (steering lock looks to be inside the bottom of where the barrel fits in. *looking at your picture it looks like you need to push it back down*
Hope that helps

Re: Tigra ignition barrel
Thanks jayporn.
Don't know how, but I got the cylinder in (in position 1) and it seems to work just fine. Gotta buy myself a Haynes manual.

Re: Tigra ignition barrel
I HATE the barrels. Done my Astra MK4 and my MK3. Getting them back in, sod of a job.
I always poke my finger in the hole and manually push the steering lock mech fully open until it clicks and latches, then do it. Bit of a fiddle.
The MK4's ruddy sprung column shroud on the adj. column makes it a lot harder..I ended up using some doorwedges and a mallet to jam that..lmao
