no spark on XE engine......

hi everyone hope you can help, i am really starting to pull my hair out!

my car wont start, there is plenty of petrol in the tank, and i am not getting even a sniff of a spark.

i have the EML flashing at every turn of the starter motor, i have dissconected the alarm system thinking it may be a imobilisor problem, but its not that.

i have done the paperclip test and it is bringing nothing up at all.

any of you have any surgestions, because i am out of ideas!

does it try to turn over or is there nothing? could be a bad earth lead mate.

yeah it turns over like crazy, and there is fuel in the fuel rail...

hmmmm im not too sure what that could be mate, hopefully someone will come on and be able to help you out.

fitted a new one, even still that would not stop the spark would it?

fitted a new one of them as it came up on the paper clip test, but still no joy

think you are gonna have to take it to someone that can run test on it to see where the fault is, will be cheaper than the elimination process.

hi is it dizzy or dizzyless? mate had same problem we tryed dizzy,coil,fuelpump relay and turned out to be fooked ecu which hapened while driving it cut out like a switch

have you done any welding on car recently my mates ecu died few weeks after doing welding [dont know if was conected to ecu fail or not]

is the ecu hanging in mid air ? if so get it bolted to the chassis ...had 3 days of the same problem and tried everything to get a spark , and after some serious head scratching i earthed the body of the ecu to the chassis and ,like magic! it had spark

Although a good idea I can tell you 100% that the case does not need an earth

calibras dont have a std immobiliser do they? i have dissconected the toad and wired all the correct wires together.

the eml is flashing and the feul pump relay is making a noise, but i have changed the relay for a spanky new one....and still no change
