Airbag Light, What do Vauxhall Need to re-set it ?

    Hi
I stupidly though leaving the battery off would reset the air bag light but of course it doesn't.
As I am running a carb on my astra I have removed the ECU, can Vauxhall still connect up and reset the airbag light ?
I have left the diagnostic plug in the fuse box so they should be able to access the airbag ECU.
I decided to retain the airbag and bought a decent steering wheel to replace the manky original one, if the light can't be reset then I will have to take it off again and remove all the airbag stuff.

    Cheers in advance.

Thinking about this more, is the fault code stored in the engine ECU or just in the airbag ecu ?

airbag ecu located in front of gearlever in centre console vauxhall can turn that off with tech 2 but normally if there is no presant fault the system should reset itself

The reason I ask is that the local dealers say that they need to have the engine ECU in the car, they didn't seem to have a clue about what I was asking. They will charge me 50 even if they can't actually do it, which isn't going to happen.

Has anyone on here actually used Tech 1 or 2 it is to reset the airbag, does it work through the ecu or do you just access the airbag ecu ?
