btt.
Have you compressed the springs as far as you can?
okay.. the nuts not moving at all, or its spinning ??
Infact, just read your post again and am confused.. have you the new shocks fitted?? and cant get the nut back on?
I have added a picture below of the Shock and the arrow on the picture is where the Big Nut will not go over.. The big nut being the one on the left of the picture..

is it possible to take the silver ring (where arrow is) off completly or maybe just file the amount off, needed to get the nut to fit over it..?
bumping an old(ish) thread here, but did you ever resolve the issue? Ive gone to fit my jamex inserts this evening and found the same problem.. thinking i might have to turn a bit of meat out of the nut?
Send them back and get some ones that actually fitTurning out the nut will weaken it and it's the only thing keeping the strut from popping itself open.

hmm I did worry about that... but these are the right inserts so they must be able to fit somehow?
Phone Jamex and ask them? Does look to me though that they have just put a kit together and not actually tested it.

at the top of the shock were the arrow is i took the spacer ring off and it fitted fine then.as far as i no it is just a spacer ring.it does not hold the shock togethor.it comes off with a tap with a hammer.
