99 astra heating system diagram help needed.
any 1 got 99 year astra heating diagram ? my heating isnt blowing hot air out and its making a clicking noise which is coming from a boxing which is at the left hand side of the clutch peddle? can any 1 help me with this problem at all? its not the heater matrix its doesnt need flushing either that as all been checked.
Who checked the matrix?
The box you refer to is the heater box that contains the matrix inside.

Hi a mechanic checked the matrix? The clicking noise is definately coming from that area? a friend mentioned it could be a relay ? . I could do with a diagram of how i can get to that area so i can have a look? if you can help me please do

Your mechanic has not connected the rods that open and close the flaps inside the heater 'box'. Does the heater 'blow'?
I have a picture of the heater box thingy somewhere, I'll dig it out.

the heater blows cold when on hot and cold when on cold and the pipes in the engine get hot so there is hot air its just not getting through? help!

It's not electrical, there is a rod connected to the switch. When you move the dial along, it pulls the rod and operates the flap.

how do i solve this problem once and for all?
Best have a look at the side of the heater system and see if something has fell off.

what am i looking for when you say fell off? and what bout the clicking noise that its making?

Has your astra got air conditioning? If so there is a valve in the water circuit between the matrix and pipes these are common for packing up and are also a pig to change. They screw in from the engine bay side of the bulk head.

The heater matrix has been checked, so i'm presuming coolant is flowing to it.

it gets worse ive just taken the glove box out and now for some very strange reason there is no hot or cold air coming out now at all but the clicking noise is still there?
Best get a mechanic to check it out for you if your getting stuck

There is a valve in the pipes going to the heater matrix to shut the flow of hot water off when you have the aircon set to cold When they fail sometimes they start to make a clicking noise. Try disconnecting the plug to see if the noise stops.
Hi all im after a drawing for a 1997 astra heater as I to have no hot air and am unsure if there is a seal missing or a linkage not conected in the heater box am hoping a drawing might be some help but just to put you all in the picture this is the problom ive got.Your mechanic has not connected the rods that open and close the flaps inside the heater 'box'. changed the matrix due to it leaking
blowers work but does not transfer the heat to the vents
the small flap at the rear bottom of the the heater box hot/cold works fine (cheacked with the matrix out)
there is a large flap at the front above the matrix but this is not conected to anything but it also does not make a diffrence if its open or shut to the heat.
if i take the bottom of the heater box off exposing the matrix it is red hot at the front but blowing cold at the rear
I belive what should hapen is when i open the hot flap on the heater the blower then blows through the matrix but i do not know were it goes from there what i have done to get a little bit of heat at the vents is left the rear of the matrix cover loose so there is cold air escaping and this inturn alows some of the hot air to reach the vents if i tighten them up it all goes (very strange)
this is a non aircon diesil what has been bleed through with no probs and the matrix gets red hot without any probs.

I don't think diagrams exist.
I'm trying to find the lever on mine today (an air con model). There are two present (a yellow one at the top left (visible in photo)) and on the right hand side in the middle of the box.
The one on the top left operates one side of the heater 'splitter' control (the right hand knob), and the one on the right side controls heat - all these do are open flaps inside the box. The heat control simply shuts the heater matrix off from the blower so no heat circulates. It's all mechanical, there's no electronics involved whatsoever.
The outside air/inside air recirculation (the button below the heater controls) is vacuum operated, meaning it gets air pressure from the inlet manifold, and when the system is open (the button pressed), the vacuum sucks through the rubber pipes and is connected to a lever which closes the two flaps on the top of the heater box (these are visible if you take the pollen filter off the blower unit in the engine bay next to the wiper motor).
There's another one somewhere, but can't seem to find it - this operates the other half of the heater 'splitter' controls (windscreen/footwell/middle vents, etc).
