Eletric window problems

i have a mk3 gsi 2000 the back drivers side door the window has come down but won't close i have changed the switches , i have changed the motor , check the fuses and even put a live striaght to it just to try and close it but still won't close does anybody have any other ideas what it might be?

if you have put a feed directly across the motor and it doesn't spin, then there may be two things, one, the motor is burnt out, two the mechanism is jamming.

If you have a multimeter, can you not put across the motor to see when someone presses the window switch one way or the other that there should be some reading across the motopr terminals.

I have put a new motor on it and i know it works cos it came of a car with working windows and my motor works on his one but just not on mine, someone else has said it might be the reglater think this matter might have to go to the local eletrical centre bet its gonna cost me but thanks anyway i give it one more go first

ya but don't tell us how you fixed it, or what was wrong with it or what was causing the problem, usually when this happens people are too embarrassed to tell us they were pressing the wrong button!!!!!

sorry mate they did't tell me and i forgot to ask was just happy that the window works now before all this rain gets here if i go past the place and ill pop in and ask them just to keep you happy

Sure mate! they arn't going to be telling you it was only a fuse or a loose connection, they are going to make sure that whatever it was , it justified them charging you how much? £60.00 !!! lol.

it was the regulater mate they had a second hand one laying about so they used that and it only cost me £25 so i didn't think that was too bad but now you know
