I just bought new ones when i rebuilt it..
You have a point & I remember that at the time, Corsas TCA's are boxed though so GM must've knew they were pap on the Nova.

I'd sooner strive for perfect road holding & handling & risk my shell tbh. If the shell is totally screwed after an impact - so be it. Most things are fixable anyway, so if the floor pan needs bashing straight & a new fr chassis member & TCA pick up, I'd get it done.

I've bent them with a standard valver conversion so the thought of not boxing them I find shocking TBH!!

As for Ricks car as some one has already pointed out as it just gets pushed in and out the garage it's not really a necessity

Re: Nova turbo strengthen

If you can see how mile was done from my thread, then i'd just do the same. Mine's stich welded and Chris astley strengthning kit fitted. I was advised this is the best method.

Box-sectioning. Creating a monocoque structure is far stringer stiffer than an open design.

We are referring to the TCA's (bottom arms) that are a inverted 'U' section. By welding a plate accross the bottom, it creates a box section & stiffens the arms somewhat to resist against torsional twisting through acceleration & gripping issues.

Nicely done Keith.

The holes at the ends of yours arent opened out though as your ball joint/tie bvar setup is for the F28.. correct? So yours have anti-crush tubes in so you can mount the tie bars underneath the TCA.

Correct -

Helps lower the tie bars with the F28

Re: Nova turbo strengthen

i've never quite got the boxing of the arms either, don't see how it can flex when its fixed inplace by the tie bars and a good solid-built shock absorber

also i'd echo what craig said about welding the seams, if you can get to it just do it, alot easier now than adding plate repairs down the line, especially with an engine in the way. also, a strong cross member is essential!
