oil light not working

as above never seen it on only had car about 6 month it dont even come on when i first turn on the ignition on

also temp gauge is always on cold only moves when its been ticking over few mins is this normal

oh car is a astra 1.8 sri 2000reg

can anyone help

the bulb will probably have blown for the oil light, and yes i would say its normal for the oil temperature gauge to only move when the engine has been ticking over a few minutes - got to let it get temperature before it shows any
