    Oil Temp Gauges

For those of you who have an oil temp gauge, particularly in a MK4 Astra, what temp readings do you get?

The oil temp sensor and pressure sender is attached to a TOPOT adaptor and I get between 60 & 70 degrees. I just wanted to know if this is about right?

    Thanks

    Re: Oil Temp Gauges

I know this is an old thread bumpage (!) but would the X18XE1 engine have an oil cooler on it? The Oil Temp gauge in my car seems to sit at about 60 deg C when on a 70mph road and can go up to 80 deg C when in slow moving traffic. Is this about right?

Is it normal for the oil temp to go back down once the car gets going again?

    Thanks
