trailer light electrics on Wreg vectra

Hi, i was under the impression there should be a plug off the lighting loom in the back of my W reg vectra LS estate pre fitted for a towbar, how ever after stripping half the boot i can't find it??

Is it just a case of tapping into the original lighting wires (obviously fitting a buzzer for the indicators)
Some people say it will be ok, some say there will not be enough power/ the car will sense a fault and i'll need a relay!!

Extremely confused and needed it done yesterday, lol

    cheers guys!
Why is it than whenever I rebuild my engine, I always end up with with a box of left over bolts!?!?

most Vauxhalls have the plug in the middle, tied to the wiring loom in the middle of the rear panel

theres nothing wrong with wiring it staight to the wiring loom though, you dont have the CAN-bus wiring system on your vehicle so no need to worry lmao

The little plug is normally just left of the boot catch and runs along with the wiring for the lights on the right of the car. Remove the plastic panel along the back of the boot under the boot catch. It will be tucked inside the hollow with the rest of the wires.

If for some reason its not there, it will be fine to join the wires by the lights, it shouldn't throw up a fault on the check light system, if it does it should only do it when the trailer is plugged in. I have done several without the check light showing though.
