    Lovely French Megane .

Right got a Megane 1.4 with a cooling fan fault .

    Tested as follows :

Short fan switch with ignition on and fan plugged in = nothing .
Short fan switch with ignition on and put test lamp onto fan plug = lights up .
Short fan switch and check switch plug with test lamp = lights up .
Put fan directly onto battery = works fine .

So there is power going to the switch , there is power getting to the fan from the switch , the fan works when wired directly to battery so WTF
I canny invest in ya and for that reason , I'm oot .

Not enough power for fan, but enough to light a bulb? Check voltage with a meter
back on the roads at last!

Ok , will check the terminals with meter so what if there is power there to light a bulb but not enough to spin a fan ?

Voltage drop somewhere obviously and I'm no auto-electrician , worth a check though

Have actually let it run up to fan cutting in temp and the fan plug still doesn't light up on test lamp but does if you paper clip the fan switch plug

With fan plugged in use the bulb tester across one terminal and ground and see if it comes on when it should.

Then try across the other terminal and ground and see what happens.
