    Watch out, oddballs about

Yeeeeeezz thats rright smitherrrrs, release the GTEeeeeeeee.

Just got back in from a test drive, everything is smooth, quiet, firm gear change, no leaks, no whining, clonking, buzzing or grinding. Excellent. The box allegedly had 100k on it from a mk3 gsi, wether thats a bit of poetic license from the salesmen (cough*Animal*cough) it seems in much better shape than my old gearbox before it went tits up.

Other news just in....i was served up my official notification of redundancy, 4 weeks notice starting today (which i'm not expected to work) so with the rather generous payout i can get a quaiffe slipper in the next month or so, as a bonus i can go out and get a real job, where i actually work for a living and get good money.

    Nice one Odders!

Sorry to hear about the redundancy mate. What with me quitting my job, maybe you wanna pop round sometime and take me out for a proper scurf around. I'm sure we could find a few Kentish lads to annoy.

    Any rebuild help gen?

Hi Yunis, it was good to meet you at the Pod on Sunday.

The rebuild has got as far as taking it all apart and working out what needs to be done. I am getting the block bored and sleeved very soon and then its a case of buying new gaskets, bolts and reassembly time .

Matt's been really busy lately, he has got a job that means he works very long hours that a few other things have meant that he's not as available as he was. he has taken a few pieces to SBD I think, to be cleaned for me though.

Should be back on the road in a month or so. I'm looking forward ot it!!!

It's going back as standard though, all apart from the intercooler.

    evenin' all!

Like rob says, I've been up to my eyeballs working, and don't have much (if any) to get on here.

glad you're happy with the gearbox, 0dders. It wasn't poetic, just all i knew about it. I'm sure TimP'll write you a sonet about it if he get's the muse.

Well my gearbox is now a whining rattly heap of fiesta.
So I'm getting a recon job with a 3.9 FDR over my current 3.55. Lovely, 10% more torque at the wheels.
Do you want to install and run "Adobe Flash Player 9"?
    No, now f*** ***.
