I had an Avo kit on my old Cavvy. They were Avo dampers with Chassis Dynamic springs and they were shite! Thecompany I bought them from had to stop selling them due to so many complaints.

I have fitted Apex springs on my Astra, and for a cheaper brand they are faultless, full TUV approval and wound by the same machine and out of the same grade metal as Eibach springs but nearly half the price.

But im not doubting that Koni/Bilstein are better. I fitted a full Bilstein coil over kit to a Leon Cupra today, I wont scare you with the dealer price for the mod but lets just say it handled like it was on rails

Ross is there any way the rear for the calibra could be converted to coil overs?? ie using a threaded platforn mounted on the rear shock with 2.1/4 springs???

    Suspension

Would have thought so mate as thats what I used on the Leon I did, it had adjustable dampers and an alloy platform like you described that adjusts to set your height, worked really well. But then you should see the suspension on our rally car. When it was built by Seat originally as a factory car the suspension cost over two grand a corner (remote coil overs, fully adjustable), hope we dont bend it on Sunday at LongCross which is quite possible as there is a rather big jump!
Pics of the rally car are on my webpage, address below.

ross if you look at the suspension design on the calibra the springs are wedged between the trailing arm and the chassis, but i was thinking of the possibility of mounting it where the damper is at the mo and converting it to a platform design...would the std chassis mounting point be able to take the added strain??
