A dead lock will 'try' and stop you opening the door - but its not exactly welding the door in position - I unlocked the rest of the car using the wiring loom as in the video - the dead lock will need to be removed from the drivers door physically because as stated its the only door without a motorised dead lock. It can still be opened - it just means taking the door card off instead of using electronics and will take slightly longer - but it won't stop the door being opened.
then it wasnt deadlocked
to deadlock a vaux you insert key turn to lock and remove in the locked position this in turn disables any usage of any electrical part of the c/l to be able to open the door in question
youve just told me im wrong and right in the same sentence
i never said you couldnt open the other doors with the switches but you wont open the deadlocked one with them
sorry i meant wrong about it not being deadlocked
The dead lock works off a micro switch on the drivers door - this activates the deadlocking solenoid inside the main lock solenoid.
When you deadlock the drivers side you have to do it with the key but the rest of the car copies it. Non of the other locks have the micro switch so although you can open the door in question with the key the only door that will operate the rest of the car is the drivers door.
The signal is obviously sent with a wire, its just a question of shorting the wire which tells the rest of the motors to de-dead lock and unlock them selves as it thinks the key is in the drivers door.
This is proved when you plug the drivers door loom back in, the passenger door is deadlocked again (returning to the state of the drivers door) and you can't lift the pin.

deadlock removed
door card off. undo the two 10mm holding the lock in. smashed it off from the outside (inly cos i couldnt be arsed faffing bout getting it off normally)
