    Car heaters not working prop!

I have posted before but got no real replys! the car takes a while to show warmth on the blocks on digi dash! this is eccoe'd by the heaters in the car as it doesn't get that warm at all! and when standing in trafic it blows warm for a few seconds but then goe's cool again. i lifted the bonnet and felt the pipes onto the rad, so this is what i found, the pipe at the top going to the engine is warm, but the pipe going to the bottom is quite cool! i would have thought that this should have been the other way round!!! what could be wrong. any1 with any idea's please as i am at a loss.

Sounds like the thermostat. In normal operation it opens and closes to either allow the water through the radiator (open) or to not and just let the water through the engine (closed)

If it is stuck open, it will take forever to warm up the car, but sitting idle in traffic will let it get hot. 'Stat is very simple to change and costs ~£15, even from vxl. What engine is it for?

I had this problem on my calibra and it turned out the heater matrix was blocked!
I thought it was the termostate and changed it.
    Still had luke warm air..
Took out heater matrix and run a hose pipe through it , and cleared it..
Temperature on clocks went up, and got proper hot air from blowers matey
