as said. the damage is between the bearing and the cap, not the crank side. looks like its hooked up on the crank due to oil starvation or contamination and then started rotating between the cap/rod and the outside of the bearing.

    caps f-cked anyway

Yes agreed, new caps and bearings and off to go I think if crank is undamaged

I thought those caps were broken ones? Although looking at that pic they looked machined.

the crank does'nt look that bad.it is scored, but not to bad imo.as you say it looks like its spun the shell's.and the damage is to the end cap and the shell.

Its spun the shells, crank will be not worth bothering with as no doubt its not straight now as well as needing a grind, the rod will be a write off and so is the cap.

Edit now in place, shoudlnt have put mains, wasnt paying attention, lol

Mains will need a grind as well as the big ends though, they always do when you spin a shell, cause the crank wont be straight anymore and thats the only way to get it back to true, and then it needs a balance again really, so its better to just get a secondhand crank that doesnt need a grind as its so easy to find them for the xe.

    Engine Damage

Throw the crank, rod(s) and bearings in the scrap, they could be reclaimed but probably not worth it.
Check the oil pump, but if the engine oil way was blocked it may be ok.
Oil galleries will want cleaning out including the cylinder head.
Do not be supprised if when you start the engine you find the turbo smokes as oil starvation will ruin a turbo in seconds.
