Fitting a Kenwood car stereo into a new Corsa

    Hi,

I've just bought a new corsa and wondered where I can find details on how to fit my Kenwood mp3 player into it?

    Thanks.

We've not actually had a go at inserting the player yet (only bought the car today!), but as the default stereo is completely different to anything I've had in previous cars, I was just looking for the basics of what was involved before getting into a mess.

first you need the fascia. Ill go searching in a sec. Is the kenwood a single din sized unit? And is it new or used? Not a problem either way so long as the ISO connection at the back of the stereo is in one piece.

And if you want the steeringwheel controls to work, you need an adapter. I will look for that too... 2 secs

^ fascia adapter (its available in silver too, but I have never managed to find one yet!)

cant find the lead for the steering wheel controls.

4 small alan screws hold the std stereo in, remove these and iirc, put a bent over coat hanger or strong wire in there to release the 'tabs' holding the stereo in. Then fit the new fascia and put the new stereo in. Just connect the ISO's together and thats it. Half an hour at the most.

    NP.

As I said, so long as the wiring from the stereo has not been cut, its a really easy job.
