    Car not starting. Advice needed.

Right i've a 92 Astra GSi redtop. For the past few months the car would take a notion of not starting and just turning over. This would maybe only happen once every 3 weeks or so and for a good while until I got it started once then she would be going good as new and starting everytime. That was until last friday when she wouldn't start for me, now she will not start no matter what I do. She just grinds. Ive checked and there is no spark getting to the distributor. I only ever got that spark once when testing. I then checked to see if there was power getting to the ignition coil. Where there is power.

Below is the things ive done so far:
    - Cleaned up distributor cap and rotor arm. (Which worked once before but not now)
    - Tested for power getting to the ignition coil (Which there is)
    - Changed the wee module connector bit at the coil because I heard they can give trouble (Which didn't help)
    - Changed the coil itself which didn't work. (Not 100% sure it was the right coil though)

Whats the next thing I should check and what gives bother in these cars? Or should I take it to a garage and get a mechanic to look at it? Ta.

I never noticed to be honest. I've the battery out charging at the minute. But if it was to do with the fuel should I still not be getting a spark in the distributor? Cuz I ain't getting one.

I had the immobiliser done away with a few months back cause it done this every so often but it still done it even after I took the immobiliser out so i'm pretty sure its not that. Wheres the crank sensor sit exactly? I heard theres a sensor on the camshaft which can give problems and one on the flywheel? I'm not certain just what i've heard.

Also how much would a crank sensor set me back?

See thats the problem. Could be a 100 things and there all electrical parts so you cant return them if it doesn't work. Heads wrecked. Is the crank sensor hard to get at?
