vectra ecu fault code 1690 help please

hello i have a 1996 vectra 2.0 x20xev

when accelerating it seems to hesitate all over rev range but then appears to rev out at 4500 rpm
just done blink test got following

0340 Camshaft sensor, as expected

but also got

1690 MIL/Engine fail (malfunction indicator lamp) . dont know what this is will it go away when camshaft sensor sorted

any help please

Yep, camshaft sensor needs replacing.

No point comment further till you have done that.
