Bad chassis on Astra mk2

I have some strange movement in the front of the car. When I turn the steeringwheel from side to side the hole front of the car moves from side to side. When i look at the lower corner of the frontwindow there is movement betwen the plastic that covers the whipers and the front arche.Does any other has this sort of play/movement in the chassis?
I think I have some problem in the frame?

Around where the steering rack rods bolt on, behind the engine in the centre.
Get someone to move the steering with the car on the ground, and watch for movement and flexing. Just have a good look around.

There are lots of movement in the wall behinde the engine, but I cant see where its coming from.Everything moves, the wall.the front frame arms, the two points where the steering rack is connected to the wall also moves.

Sounds like the bulkhead may be cracked around the rack mountings, quite common on the MK2's. You really need to check for cracks/rot before you go driving it about.
