    Reading Fault Codes

My engine management light is coming on and staying on much more frequently as of late and its really beginning to bug me. Whats causing it?

Someone said something about testing the ECU or someting and then reading off the codes.

How do I test it and how do I read the codes and find out whats the problem?

    Cheers

what car you got? if its the mk2 astra the blug is behind the water washer bottle, pull the top off the plug and connect pins A & B together with a bit of wire, go inside the car and pop the ignition on the light on the dash will flash, count the flashes then it will pause and flash again, ie if you have fault code 21 it will flash flash pause flash, two flashes for 20 then pause flash once for the one

    heres the link http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/showt...=&threadid=549

    Nah mines a Mk3 Astra (C20NE).
Do I just use any bits of wire to connect the pins?
