    Idling problem

My revs keep going from just under 1000 revs to just under 2000 revs when im stopped at lights etc. Happens most of the time

Took it to a few garages to get it looked at but they wouldnt touch it as its supercharged.
Anybody know of anything it could be? Just so can ask a garage to check that part see if its at fault

    Thanks!

Car is running sweet apart from that, super fast now

When got a new driveshaft fitted today he had a quick look for air leaks couldnt see much but didnt want to check everything coz knows nothing about the kind of engine.

How do I check the lamba sensor Dean? Remember this going on forshalls corsa once before

    1. Attach a oscilloscope or DVM to the OS switching wire. The connector end would be the best place to monitor this point. Put the ground probe to a good earth point on the car (i.e. chassis).
    2. Increase the engine speed between 2500 and 3000 RPM for 3 minutes. This allows the OS to heat up and light the CAT.
    3. Allow the engine to fast idle and check for OS switching. The OS voltage should switch high and low from 200mV to 800mV at a very fast rate, typically between 8 to 10 times a second (or 1 Hz).
    4. The oscilloscope will be able to see this transition taking place. But a DVM will only see the average switching voltage (RMS) and will only show about 450mV. A sluggish OS may appear to be functioning correctly and may not revel the voltage being high. If the DVM has a MAX and MIN function, the range of average switching will be more easily spotted.

    - eh ok then probably easier to just try a different one lol

Nope dont know anyone else with a supercharged corsa

Would it have to be a 1.6 16v astra engine it comes out of to try it?

Would be the same LS anyway I think they are a fairly universal application but im not 100% just any 1.6 should do it

    karen they are pretty universal..

    thought yours was a C16XE

it WAS an X16XE at one point (astra engine) and was converted to a back to a corsa GSI engine

find a 1.6 16valve vaux engine and get the lambda off them

If he works in Halfords just get him to "borrow" one for you they should stock them (well they did in my days there but that was a wee while ago and its gone downhill since i left lol) try it and take it back if its not that

Would have said its got to be some kind of sensor its got to be either too much/little fuel/air right? Try the CTS too mine did something similar recently was idling funny and they eventually started jumping about turned out it was the CTS (eventually got an ECU light which aided in solving the problem) it was just a bit minging cleaned it up and had no probs since

Does it make a difference that I have a MF2 fitted?

From a web site thats sells them - The MF2 is based on an open-architecture design, which means that the unit is freely re-programmable at any time, open to any one who possesses a small screwdriver: no computer interface is necessary! - So it could be the screw has moved not sure though, anyone want to clafiy this?

full info here http://www.aquamist.co.uk/cp/mf2/mf2.html if anyone wants

the xe in my old corsa did it, was a coolant temp sender. no light or code, just chaged it as it looked a bit corroded and the wiring looked a bit dead.

re-wried, new cts ran, and still does, on the money

Curson24 mine did the same just cleaned the CTS (the connections were minging and so was the probe) it was fine after that. You should give it a try mine didnt show any fault codes for ages then one day it did so i quickly grabbed a paper clip and it was shouting Coolant Temp Sensor reading high voltage. Not had any problems since. Worth a shot anyway.
