ive just tried to read the fault codes on a p reg 1.8 vectra as stated on cavweb but not sure which pins to connect,diagram says pins5+6but writing says pins4+6.can anyone help please.

Don't matter.
Both pins are ground.
i tried it using both pins but the light just went out. is this normal meaning there is no faults or am i doing something wrong.![]()
oh i forgot is it the black plug just infront of the handbrake under a cover...
Yes that's the plug.
Do it without the engine running.
It maybe because there are no faults stored.
Faults will only get stored if the light comes on while eng running.
I thought you would always get a code 12 (diagnosis started) even if there isn't any fault codes stored.
I have never had to read Vauxhall fault codes like this as we have a code reader at work.

With the simtec 56.5 the code listings are different so you don't get a 12. Maybe you get a 10 instead but i'm not sure![]()
