This is thread number 1 of what im sure to be many :)

Just picked up a cracking Astra GSI (red top) which has a few niggles i want to iron out so i will need all the help you can offer as this is the first vauxhall i have ever owned :D

anyways, the problem i have you see is when the car is cold it hesitates/missfirs at low revs and idles quite lumpy any thoughts on what this could be?????? just to fill you in it has been superchipped and i can guess by the paperwork i got has had schrick cams put in.

Any info would be wicked.

p.s do you guys meet any where in essex at all???

Schrick's have got a fair bit of overlap haven't they?

Or you could try a service - plugs, leads, rotor + cap, air filter, fuel filter, might as well stick a new coolant temp sensor on it as it'll stop everyone telling you that's what's wrong. Also do a search for flashing fault codes just to check everything is hunky dory.

CTS lmao

There are loadsa service items you could renew. I'd suggest checking all earths & connections on fuel pump & such like too.
My GTE 16v developed a fault & wouldnt pull to the limiter. Sorted out earths etc & was then cured. The ignition system on these engines has a rather hefty current draw.

Mate had a Cavvy Turbo with a Blitz turbo timer - it took so much current through it it melted!!
