Ive lost 1st n reverse can you find it for me ?

I had the replacment gear box put on my turbo with a black diamond clutch and since i had it done i found it a little difficult to find 1st and 6th.
One thing i must i add is for the past 4weeks all i have been driving is a brand new astra so the gear stick did take me a while to get used to again.

I gave the car a real good run at the weekend and now im 100% with the gears and location.

I went out today without a problem until at the 3rd location i couldnt get it in reverse at all which left me to go to the roundabout and turn rouned.

As i pulled away i thought come on rob get the bite give it more gas but as the car picked up speed i found i was in 3rd !!!!!

I couldnt find any other gear and as i rolled to a holt the clutch stank like high heaven. I left the car for a good half hour and when it came to moving it i can only find 2 - 6 gears.

As i pulled away and went around a roundabout there was a tink noise that sounded like heavy metal hitting the floor ( like a huge needle)

I managed to limp to the garage who is workin on it but i wonder what it could be.
Could it be the pressure plate or is it just the linkage. If it is the linkage is there any where that shows how the linkage should be or is it really guess work

    thanks for your time

    Rob.

Linkage needs adjusting, also check for play in it.
Took me 3 hours or so to get mine right, just trial and error here. The drill bit method doesn't work the same on the F28.

Ive got a stupid crook lock thing on the gear stick with the bulk locking bit along side the leather gaiter, would it be worth scrapping this ?

the funny thing was the guy doing it said 1st n 6th were the hardest to find as they are so close together.

have they got much to strip down then ?

It's only one bolt to adjust it.
It just defied logic when I was doing mine, very very sensitive adjustment.
    Patience required. lmao

Move gear lever left and line hoes up for bit.
Slacken pinch bolt on linkage. Twist linkage until bit drops in the hole in the gearbox (remove little plug first lol). Now is reset, tighten bolt.
Enjoy having no reverse, 1st and 2nd lmao
