So running a power steered rack without power steering pipes on the pump wont cause it any damage.

it would be ok for a short distance but prolonged use may well damage the seals in the rack.

the steering will be mighty heavy though abit lighter on the move but sill heavy

another problem is the pas pump will pump fluid all over when the engine is running of if theres no fluid in the system it will damage the pump

It doesn't matter if you remove drive to the pump. The rack itself is designed to work with fluid circulating through it. If there is no fluid it will be damaged.

True. I think i the way i worded it sounds like i'm saying the pump will be fine, which of course it won't.

    fact.

Running pump with no fluid will feck it.

Turning the wheels without fluid going through it will feck the seals after time, if it dont damage your arms before hand.

I wouldnt run it without fluid and pump running at all, aint worth it, racks arnt nice to replace.
