Why does my ( ! ) light come on when going around corners?

When giving my car some stick around corners.

The red ( ! ) light appears on the dash, which is brake fluid resevoir isn't it?

I topped it right up as I thought it was going out of the sensor when going to one side, but its up to the brim now - and still happens...

    Any gen?

That's definitely the handbrake on light, or a brake fault light.

Not sure why it comes on when cornering though, unless some part of the brakes are binding when the suspension loads up

If it is the handbrake warning light it's probably a dodgy handbrake switch. I've had that problem before where it flickered on cornering.

(!) means you're 'parked'. If you stop your car and put the handbrake on, and I think if you turn the ignition off, you'll get the (!) symbol. It's definately nothing to do with oil though.

    I've got a feeling I'm wrong though.

Yes, you are, a Nova definitely isn't clever enough to know if it's moving or not!
This is the brake fluid low warning light. It works by using a plunger in the lid of the fluid reservior. Maybe when it was last empty it has got stuck a bit low down? Or it's just fooked? Try another cap maybe? Check the brown and brown/ red wired to it aren't broken. Or just unplug it.
    They're there, in their room.

(!) is brake fluid low level.

Check the wiring to the float switch

ollys rightm the rest are wrong, the handbrake is deffo the (P) and the (!) as used on some cars for both is only the brake fluid, both came up in my theory test so I checked!!!

My MR2, and the majority of cars I have seen have (!) as the handbrake... Maybe they are the dashes without a specific (P) light.
