My dad has a 2001 2.6 Omega, the key keeps getting stuck in the ignition and it takes ages to get it to release, any ideas? we have tried wd40 inside, maybe need to take cowling of and spray around as opposed to in the barrel?
Auto's have a solonoid in the barrel to stop you removing the key unless it's in park.
Maybe it's faulty ? or it could be the park switch that's faulty so try wiggling the gear selector or run it through RND and back to oark and see if that helps.
I guess you could somehow disconnect the solonoid from the barrel
thanks mate. sorted it now. It was a sticky gear selector needed lubing.
