the building of the nexia gte

i have stripped nexia down to bare shell the actuall shell is identical to gte 16v only diferences are rear light clusters gte ones need cut out and welding in to fit gte rear lights as you cant buy them for mk2 why i dont no as they stock for mk3.front slam pan is a little different need to mod a bit to get front lights and indicators in.wings fit straight on bonnet fits but you need to swap astra hinges onto daewoo.i will post pics of everything thats different.

heres a pic of the donnor.

heres the daewoo front end the front lights in the slam pan need modding also you need to drill three holes in the slam pannel for the top of the bumper to screw in otherwise bumper sits straight on even the runners at the sides are identical to astra bumper slides on,

Comparing the 2 cars, do you think you would be able to put nexia headlights and indicators on a mrk 2 astra? I mean are they screwed into the same position? Would a standard astra bumper fit with the nexia lights on?

Does the GTE tailgate fit OK. I seem to recall someone saying the rear quarter panels were different ?

all the car harness is now in dash is in.seatbelts in the deawoo dont slide up and down so the astra runners and belt are now in .with leaving the deawoo heating system in ,the dash needs modding behind the glove box to fit in properly.heres a pic of the dash all the carpets are now in and the rear quater cards and all the black plastic that holds shelf speakers etc.finish off the interior on monday and start on getting the lump in..

heheheh - no when I started that reply, all I was doing was making the pic visible as it was just a red x in his post. Then by the time I was done he fixed it so I edited the post to say he had beaten me in showing the picture.

I look forward to the end result - should be good

I have one part of the nexia on my car anyway... the plastic bits on the rear windows are nexia ones instead of the cheesegrater-style ones off the GTE

UPDATE the nexia windscreen is about a inch longer than the astra so to fit the astra wiper motor and the plastic pannel between the bonnet and screen the astra window needs to go in. once the daewoo windows out the holes are there to plug the astra bungs in to hold the screen up..the engines now in all the interior is in just needs panneled up exhaust and back axle on.
