I really admire you for what you're doing.

But that Daewoo shell seems to have alot of rust on it?

Interesting project there. Coming on nicely. Just wondering why you went to all that hastle when you could have just rebuilt the existing shell.

I guess it'll look pretty funky. An N reg Astra GTE! Cool.

yeah its looking really good boys, the only thing i was thinking about was the rust on the landing panel.i would consider putting a new front on it,it will only cost you about 50 quid and the shell will look a lot more like a gte.If you had found a good metallic astra shell you would have prob had less rust
Keep up the good work

i take it half the point of this project is because its never been done ? i'm with astra dan on this one, for all the effort youve outlayed, all the cutting and weldong, you could have had the original donor astra in concours condition.

the reason it was done was just to have a p reg gte me and my pal go through some strange phases and as for the work theres nothing hard about it just plough on.as for the old shell it was fecked chassis gone floor rotten, sill etc.and it would have been a waste of a 16v.at first i was gonna reshell it but finding out it can only be done legitamatley with a new shell(.A) where would i get a new shell(.b) daewoo next best thing.the shell i have fair enough it has bit surface rust, but its not bit into anything yet.once its all painted at the end of the day ive sort of saved a gte 16v.

I was thinking why doesn’t someone make a nexia cabrio out of a MK2 Astra, Looks good so far. You gonna transplant the back from a Saloon nexia then to complete the transfomation?? Idea is cool. Pitty about the mirrors, sunstrip and wiper.

Both great projects!!
