    Work/holidays question

New job - started 3rd Jan - contract states for first 12 months I am only entitled to accrued holidays. At a rate of 2.33 days per month worked.

Am fine with this normally for the first 3 months probation but is this fair for 12 months?

    Permenant salaried role.

Pretty normal stuff to be honest. We specify similar terms but in effect the holiday entitlement is just pro-rated as per the formula given - we don't enforce it exactly as it says in the contract since we have the right to claim back "unearned holidays" taken from a leaver's final salary payment, so if someone wants to take a week off they're allowed since they'll likely accrue the time later in the year.

    Cheers for reply.

Yer agree with that - so would imagine some flexibility as long as don't try to book 2nd month off lol

If you come and work for me you can have Weds and Thursday off every week, 60% of your earning and three weeks paid holiday a year. Uniforms, lubricants and toys will be provided.

When I started my job last year, I was given the holiday allowance I would earn up until the yearly cut-off. I started off with 17 out of 27 days, when it renews in March or whenever, I'll get the full 27 days then (I work bank holidays).

to avoid holiday pay confusion, take up self employment, you will never have to worry about another holiday! You work so hard till your balls drop off, 24/7/365 days, but you are your own boss, work when you want, work when you not want, holiday when you want, for however ;long you want, if you want ,

Its basically so you dont use your years entitlment then leave. Eg your there a month and take 3 days holiday then quit (they will deduct 0.77 days pay from your last wage)

    Re: Work/holidays question

You'd only need to work there 2 months to get a week off, more or less.
