My business got broken into

Hi all, for all east mids members my place of business was broken into last night/early hours this morning and all my tools have been stolen including my snap on scanner.
the scanner was the ethos one had all the leads and personality keys
my tool box was totatly emptied all my tools were snap on
have had the police up here and they have told me as its a commercial property that the forensic might not do any finger printing and they have left alot of prints.

so my appeal to you guys is that if you hear of any cheap snap on tools going up for sale or an ethos scanner please let me know i only know how my scanner can be identified but i dont really hold much hope for them all being recovered.

Inherited all my dad's Snap On stuff, and the whole lot got stolen from my garage, along with a brand new (still in wrapping) engine crane and generator. They came back the next week and got the welder. This was all sat next to my kit car, obviously was being used - can these c*nts not see that YOU NEED THIS SH*T FFS???!!!

Something like a scanner - if any back street garage is offered it, I wonder how many are just going to hand over the 200 quid and say no more about it? Nobody seems bothered about each other, the level certain individuals stoop to is worrying and it's worse now than it was 10 years ago, nobody seems to care anymore.

thanks in advance and very much appreciated...but tbh im not really holding much hope to get any of it back it just p******s me off to think that 10yrs of building it all up for scum bags to clear it in a matter of minutes.

in due seriousness, invest in a good alarm system, one that can snap pictures or videos of culprits and capture their vehicle number plate if they weren't driving a stolen get away, and have a system that can dial you anywhere, and one that could even send you images of your premises being ransacked, you could then send the cops on their way. or get a couple flesh tearing hungry dogs!

As for insurance, there is not always a guarantee that they would pay you, as they would ask you to alarm your premises and use it, use certain types of security measures and locks, so you might as well just alarm it and forget about the insurance, also fit a good smoke/fire alarm coupled to your main alarm so that it can alert you and call the fire brigade incase of real fire. and or automatic sprinklers, since when do any one needs an insurance, and they always try to talk their way out of paying you and find an excuse that you were negligent and so won't pay you.

judging by the amount of people asking if you was insured and you not giving a reply then i guess not.
you can have all you tools under your bed but some arse will take them. unless you have 24 hour ninjas on your site looking after your stuff you have no chance.

Trouble is jamied, most insurance companies will ask you to take adequate measures to protect your property, or their terms and conditions aren't met and they may refuse your claim. Most now insist on some kind of approved alarm system.
