Quite an odd thing, where to sell a Narwhal Tusk?

Raking around, I've found a Narwhal tusk my Gran gave me years ago, she found it hidden in her attic (a 18th century old school house). I've no idea how old it actually is, quite old I'd guess though.

Seeing as I've no real interest in it - and I don't know any exciting stories about how it came to be - I'm thinking about selling it.
Ebay won't let me sell it on there and that's the only place to sell stuff nowadays .

Any suggestions how to sell it?

This crowd in the USA charge $150/inch for their tusks eek Boone Trading Company - Narwhal Ivory Tusks

This was mentioned by someone at work today, it could be a shout. Part of me would say it's a bit of a shame for it to be ground up but the other part says think of the cider......

It's not really protected from what i can gather hence why canada can export them. Just the fact it's a form of ivory. There must be a market here somewhere (Sheffield knife makers assoc ) but bu**ered if i can find it
Can't remember the organisation (and i've just read it!), but you might have to e-mail them for the go-ahead.

I've had an email from a guy who saw my post on another forum saying he'd like to buy it, it'd seem pretty dodgy usually, but using my super sleuth skills I've discovered the guy (who he at least claims to be ) is real and the story about having worked in the antartic in the past ties up with what I've found.

I've also emailed the Scottish Marine Institute to see if they can help me in the right direction. I've found plenty of stories which would confirm it's fairly valuable though, which is a good thing I guess!

    If you're lucky.

There was a spate of museum burglaries last month where rhino tusks were being stolen. I think i remember hearing that gramme for gramme they were worth more than 9ct Gold.

Not sure what makes rhino tusks special but you may find your narwhal thingy is equally as valuable
