Turned out all that selling haggling he does was a total fix, the buyers were crew and family lmao

edd china has an ebay account where he sells all the cars, i did have a link to it somewhere, i'll see if i can find it. They're mostly sold at a great loss too lol.

nooo, dont go and shatter the illusion by hitting us in the face with logic and fact.

probably costs about 50k to film an episode, 500 filming costs, 49,500 on ginsters. STICK YER AAND AAAOUT.

    lmao

I also loved how they used to spend two weeks welding and spraying a car, only to sell it for two hundred quid more than they paid for it and "turn a tidy little profit" - wtf

Favourite episode has to be the Beetle - Brewer buys "a tidy little motor" that turns out to be soooo utterly rotten they decide to turn it into a beach buggy (i.e. junking the body and keeping the floorpan and mechanicals) but the floor is so rotten they have to buy a new floorpan as well, and most of the mechanicals are ****ed too so IIRC they end up using the steering box.

    lol!
I bet she and MSG would team up nicely, and prices would skyrocket...
Note: the above may or may not be entirely correct.

Got to admit i thought MSG was mental but found myself doing the very same today.

Found a certain vehicle in a breakers at 4.30 just as it was getting dark. I wanted the mega rare walnut steering wheel off it and the bloke said "£25 next week when we have de-polluted it, as we still need to steer it"

I managed to twist his arm into letting me swap it over with a scabby wheel out of the yard, Came to paying him, Only had 10's and 20's so told him to take £30, He was well chuffed.

Didnt dare tell him i'd be selling it for £200 on ebay though lmao

Mr Nemesis..u shud try dealing with these kind on a day to day basis when they want new indian menus and they are told the price for said amount of menus..they even pay a deposit up front and when they come to collect they get all ****ty about not wanting to pay the outstanding balance! lol time and time again they all do the same bull**** talk. And a few havnt bothered paying the balance which pisses me off cause i work my fkin ass off to get menus designed and done at a said time for them to be ****in pricks and not cough up rest of the cash. wankers.com ftw!

I hear the Asian accent and I think, "oh great here we go".

Him: What it your last price?
    Me: Last price?
    Him: Last Price?
Me: £500 as per the advert
    Him: £400?
    Me: No, £500
    Him: £450?
    Me: No, £500.
Him: Ok £500, I'll take it Tueday morning.
Me: No you won't, I'll be at work (unlike you obviously)

    WTF!

Anyway, so the jist of it is, he's agreed to buy it at full asking price without even seeing it. Perfect buyer really, but I do hate dealing with them. And when it came to giving the address, he had to put his son on the phone because he couldn't understand my accent. And even then I had to slowly spell C R O Y D O N. Whether I actually see him or not is another matter.

And surprise, surprise, he never turned up. Ignored my calls and texts. F*cking typical!

Lost count how many times I've literally either taken the keys off someone or shut the house door in their face when they moan about a scratch/missing wheeltrim/cracked back light on a 15 year old car. One or two have knocked back again and offered the full price and I've still refused to sell to them. It's even more annoying when you've told them on the 'phone the price isn't negotiable.
Yeah I agree with you here. That really annoys me when they point out pathetic little problems on a £300 car. And actually I'd add to that, who would win an ebay auction car without even viewing it?

She told me she had an old MK2 Astra in the garage which had been there since they got their new car. It was a 1988 car (this was back in 1998). She said she wanted a grand for it which wasn't bad so I got the money out of the bank intending on haggling her down to £700-£800 or so.

Out came an absolutely pristine low mileage MK2 1.3 Merit. The seats had been covered since new, there wasn't a scratch or dirt anywhere. It drove like a brand new car.

I didn't have the heart to haggle - it was worth the money all day long. I ran it for a couple of years and sold it to a local motor trader for what I paid for it.

That was my first Vauxhall - probably the most reliable one as well lmao
Had the same recently. An old GF of mine let me know that her mum was selling her family owned Peugeot 205 diesel in great nick, with a mountain of servicing bills and history. She would sell it to me for £200. The car was so good, I wasn't even gonna insult her by haggling (especially when I felt a bit guilty that I'd be selling the thing on for at least double that anyway).

I have, vehicle was 300 miles away from me, seemed perfect for what I wanted, so I took a punt as I didnt want to go all that way twice.

So I won it, bought a single train ticket up, and drove it home.

It was fine, drove it for a year then sold it on for 300 quid profit also to someone who didnt view before buying on ebay.
(I took decent pics, the first seller didnt, so it put a lot of people off bidding)

Well aslong as you acknowledge it's a "punt" then fine. You don't turn up and start pointing out insignificant problems with it and negotiating on the price you have already committed to I'm sure.

    No mate.
I phoned him up before the auction ended, asked him quite a few detailed questions about it and the condition of it, and said that if any of the answers he gave me werent correct then if I won it I wouldnt be paying the price I won it for.
He was totally honest about it, so it worked fine.

It did actually have a problem with the brakes pulling due to a seized caliper, which I wasnt aware of till I braked hard on the way home, but on a 20 year old vehicle I viewed that as acceptable, and it only took 10 mins to free off anyway.

    Re: "Last price"

If the price is right then buying blind isn't too much of a drama. Once got a Nova TD for fifty quid off eBay. It wasn't as described but it went like a ****ing rocket and was always worth more than I'd paid for it, even if it blew up on the way home.
