    Sleeping on a plane?

Can anyone do this? I can't even sleep upright, I have to be lying down.
I seem to sleep better fully clothed, actually not 'in bed', as well - but all the times I've flown, I didn't sleep at all, even though I was the most knackered I've been for a while. I remember looking round at half the people with their mouth's wide open fast asleep, thinking 'bastards'.
One dog goes one way and the other goes the other.
And this guy's saying, "Whaddya want from me?"

Head prop is vital, I just can't understand people who can sleep with head straight and back. ****ed up mofos. But yeah, I can sleep anywhere otherwise.

I'm usually too busy thinking of all the good times I've had and people I know, to be able to get to sleep! as I'm usually sat there soiling myself

I wish I could - I quite enjoy flying but my body doesn't and I get incredibly sick on anything more than 30 minutes flight

    Re: Sleeping on a plane?

I did 4 months on secondment flying glasgow to Southampton weekly. You get to know the air crews on rotation so sleep before the "if we crash" briefing and wake up when the wheels hit the ground. How to get an hour an 20 mins sleep on a 1:15 shuttle flight
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming... "f*ck, what a trip!"

    Fly business class.

If you can't get comfy on the extra large reclinable seats then the copious amounts of free alcohol will certainly put you to sleep.

    Re: Sleeping on a plane?

Was on a 12 hour flight. Bloke sat next to be was like a barrel. We were having this little war of who was going to put their arm on the armrest. I got a little can of Heineken and a double whiskey to try and get me to sleep. I went to pour it in the little plastic cup, and dropped the lot down the bloke's leg.

    Can't afford business class!

Best to ask the trolly dolly's if they can lend a hand or mouth first so saves you working up a sweat and waking up smelly.

    Re: Sleeping on a plane?

I do many 9 - 13 hour flight a year and barely sleep a wink - the minute I get in the taxi at Heathrow though I'm gone for most of the 3 hour journey home.
Last week I came back from Sth. Korea and sat next to this mother with a kid that screamed all the way - literally. The steward issued me with eyeshade and earplugs - they definitely didnt work. I just wanted to put a plastic bag over the miserable little bastards head - the mother's too for bring him..
