    Tonight's "work"

At work we've just gone and got ourselves a new CADCAM software package, and so me being me, decided to apply it to a real world situation and ended up with.....

I didn't get the best finish ever, possibly down to the fact I was running a 6mm cutter at 2.5m/min (which is quite fast in layman's terms) and not knowing what I know now that I've done it lmao.

Had a wee bit of an oopsie with it too but I've camoflaged up the dents . Overall I'm very pleased with myself though. It's kind of got me interested in the whole CNC thing again.

Now to order some 16x9" billets.....

    Jack said,

Surely you are only pulling it one way though? ie. you are pulling it along its length.

    Yeah way.......

It's quite easy, draw a 3D model of the part, tell the software what you want to do, software then scans the model and generates the program, fire the program into the machine (800kb), get some material and 2 hours later a wheel comes out lmao. Well maybe that's a bit exaggerated but you get the idea. Before CNC you just wouldn't even look at anything like that lmao.

You must be quite envious that I am inherently retarded. I pitty you , you lack more sense than I first thought.

It was only about 40 mins, all the sizes were just off the top of my head and it's just a few basic shapes when it's broken down.
