Got my new batteries but need some help .

New batteries turned up today but have some questions .

The wires look like they plug into the battery but will they come out again ?

They look like a very tight fit .

Removed the battery holders on the outside of the chassis and the pack fits ok , need to trim the battery stay to clear the wires .

Next question .... will my old helicopter charger be ok ?
    It's 2 cell and 7.4v

I canny invest in ya and for that reason , I'm oot .

I'd have thought those battery leads would plug all the way in - how deep are the holes in relation to the cable ?

Yes , they go all the way in but will they come out again is the thing .... don't want to force them in yet .
The bit round the outside must compress together a lot to fit in the hole .

I've used similar connectors which have had an angled piece of metal inside the female part which grips like buggery - it goes in but won't come back out - you'll only know when you're ready to try though.

If you're really worried about them, bung a bit of hot melt glue on it.

They don't look too different to the old corralli (I think that's what they weere called?) connectors that I used to use, they were gold plated jobbies that slotted into gold plated tubes that you had to solder onto the end of the stick/saddle pack.

I assume that little wiring harness that you have pictured came with it and adapts your existing wiring or something?

WTF is that yellow wire about? Not a 'hot wire' for a servo is it?

Re: Got my new batteries but need some help .

The yellow wire goes in the middle of the pack and the white plug goes into the charger .

The red and black wires just go onto the speed controller with my Traxxs plug .

The speed controller has got power capacitors standard .

Just to give me a heads up, who is your car manufactured by?

I could wager a guess off my old theories off the dog bones and the lower arms but...

The good old dog bone method still works well , have got spare diffs , some are locked .. so I can run them with both front and rear diffs locked .
Can do donuts on the spot until tyres go and no part of the drivetrain has been replaced .
Shouldn't say that ..... going to break now .
The make is Hsp but converted them to brushless etc .

the yellow lead is so you can balance charger the 2 cells in the lipo

and ya the push in there only 4mm corallays

there look the same as my lipos (i post a pic)

lipos have a safe cut off so they dont blow up ( thye will if they drop below a sectain voltage) check youtube

Yes , I like your gold packs
What sort of life do Lipos have ?
Can you just top them up like the Ni-Mh and not worry about fully discharging ?

Pushed the connectors in no problem , just need to solder some plugs on now , it's good that you can change them over .

Decided to ditch the Traxxs plugs and just do everything with Deans plugs .

Lipos charged , plugs soldered so ready for a test drive .

Re: Got my new batteries but need some help .

Glad you came on , hold up ,

Had a test run today and was set on 3.0v per cell , now the car had about 15 mins use and the voltage cut came in .

The Lipo was nowhere near hot but was a bit warm .

Thinking maybe changing the gearing ?

    Got a choice :

    58T Main cog / 26T motor cog < current gearing .

64T Main cog / 29T motor cog < sposed to be uprated gearing .

try uprated gearing fella and see how it goes

also depends on your driving style...are you flat out on the throttle every or are you on n off etc
